Learning Support Assistant (temporary) required

Position:         Learning Support Assistant   (temporary post: to July 2023 in the first instance)

Salary:          Grade 4 SCP 5   Starting at £11.18 per hour 

Term-time only, 37wks FTE; up to 32.5 hours - negotiable for the right candidate(s)

 Minimum Requirement:  NVQ Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) or working towards     

NB If working towards, salary will be paid at Grade 3, starting at £10.98 per hour, until qualified at Level 3

 

Burton Fields School are looking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to provide support for pupils with additional learning needs, within the classroom or as bespoke 1-1 or small group provision, to enable them to catch up and keep up with their peers.

We require someone who: 

-Is committed to inclusive practice.
-Has a good understanding of the impact of additional learning needs on children’s progress and development.

-Is willing to undergo further training to develop existing skills.
-Has good interpersonal skills and is able to communicate well.
-Has the ability to inspire and motivate reluctant learners.

-Is resilient.

-Has a good sense of humour.

-Can work well independently and as part of a team.

This position is subject to a criminal records check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly CRB) which will require you to disclose details of all unspent and unfiltered spent reprimands, formal warnings, cautions and convictions as part of the recruitment process. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Shortlisted candidates will also be asked to complete a self-declaration of their criminal record or information that would make them unsuitable to work with children. In addition, an online social media search will be undertaken for all shortlisted candidates.
