Burton Fields

Welcome

Welcome to Burton Fields! We are a two-form entry junior school serving the local community within the Shobnall Parish of Burton-on-Trent.

At Burton Fields, we believe that every child has the power to inspire positive change in the world. As a UNICEF Gold Rights Respecting School, the language of children’s rights is embedded in all that we do - shaping the way we teach, learn and grow together. Being a Rights Respecting School isn’t just what we do, it’s who we are!

Our school is a diverse and vibrant community, with children from many different backgrounds, cultures and religions. What unites us is the belief that every voice matters and that Everyone Belongs. Here at Burton Fields, every child is valued for who they are and differences are celebrated.

We encourage our children to strive to be their best each day, to always aim to improve and by doing so, achieve excellence. Our goal is for every child to grow into a confident, responsible and successful learner who is ready for the future.

Pupil voice is at the heart of everything we do. Children are encouraged to share their ideas, take part in decision-making, develop leadership skills and learn to debate respectfully, ensuring every voice is heard. These experiences help our children become articulate, responsible global citizens, ready to make a positive difference in the world.

Our ambitious curriculum provides children with the powerful knowledge that they need to succeed in life and to inspire positive change in the world around them. Through carefully planned learning experiences, our children are encouraged to think critically and grow a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. We are especially proud of our exceptional outdoor learning opportunities, which play a huge part in our curriculum. Whether it’s orienteering, exploring our natural environment, taking lessons outside or working together on practical projects, outdoor learning helps our pupils to build confidence, develop teamwork and strengthen their sense of wellbeing.

We are proud to be part of the Central Co-operative Learning Trust, where schools work together to grow, share expertise and collaborate to ensure the very best outcomes for all children.

We invite you to explore the information on our website, including our school prospectus below, which provides a detailed insight into life at Burton Fields and all that we offer our children. We hope you find the information you need and would be delighted to welcome you to Burton Fields to see our exceptional community in action!
